THE TALOS PROJECT HAS BEGUN!!!

Hi all!

After a lot of preparation and modeling and texturing and rendering and all the other stuff that goes into making it happen, it's finally here. I hope you all enjoy the story so far and I hope to bring you more as soon as I can.

Feel free to voice your opinions on here so I can get feedback, good or bad but preferebly just the good stuff Lol.

I want to add more pages soon along with some downloads such as wallpapers etc and a shop, but all in good time.

To make sure you don't miss updates to the story or the website sign up to the Newsletter and stay up to date with The Talos Project

Looks very nice, and enlarging the speech bubbles on mouseover is a clever idea. I guess I'll just patiently wait for you to reveal a little bit more about the titular character.

Hey, thanks.
Glad you like the bubbles, still have some improvements to make in that area.

And yes, you will have to wait to find out more, I could just tell you but where's the fun in that.
There are many more characters still to be introduced later in the story.

Cheers

Yo dude,

I just want to say that the comic looks amazing!!

I love the close detail in the characters - especially the two old guys and your opening shot must have taken you ages?!

Absolutely stunning and very impressive! It's about time something like this came out, a good mysterious start and brilliant graphics - keep it going!

So what's the next stage for The Talos Project?

Thanks a lot.

Really pleased you like it so far.

A fair amount of time was spent developing it so it's great to receive the good feedback that I have got from all the various forums on the web and by the number of people signing up.

As for what's next, well I'll let the comic tell you.

Cheers

Very cool idea and I'm very much looking forward to future updates! I work in the film industry as a 3d artist and its very nice to see 3d getting used in cool new ways :) Keep up the great work!

Cheers,
Simon

Hey thanks Simon really glad you like it. There are some dodgy poser based 3D attempts at creating comics but not many created by professional 3D artists. I hope to change that.

Thanks again

I would like to say you have done a very amazing job! I forget how I actually stumbled upon your page but I am glad I did. It may have been from 3dm3.com some how. I am a n00b in Maya and your work is truly an inspiration. Keep up the great work!

Hey thanks,

I have some more pages finished but want to get more done before I launch as I would also like to make changes to the whole site as well.
Unfortunately moving house and other projects have gotten in the way of the schedule a bit.

I plan to release a few tutorials as part of the first book for those that might be interested in my workflow for concept art, character modeling and set design, modeling and rendering etc

Would you be that interested in such as thing?

Cheers

Gio ...

While working on my own project, I stumbled upon your thread in Subdivision Modeling. The first full rendering of the head of PFT blew me away -- I literally gasped. After studying every post, I finally made it to the link to this and every gorgeously rendered panel.

Keep up the good work ... I've bookmarked Talos Project for inspiration, and I'd love to get my hands on the tutorials you mentioned in your reply to Sielecas.

Hey Psion,

I'm glad you like it and I really appreciate your kind words.

I have another 10 pages ready and I'm just working on a few improvements to the site in preparation for the update which should hopefully go live around the coming weekend.

I thought about including a beefier version of the first book when it's ready and including concept art and a tutorial or two, but may go for a downloadable version also which I may put up on my site sooner (and cheaper).

I post Work-In-Progress stuff on a few sites and plan to put more stuff on this blog also in that respect from now on. Don't forget to sign up so you will get updates and info for when then next batch of pages go up and any news regarding tutorials on the site.
More content is planned soon.

Regards

-Gio
